Our health and wellbeing are the most important things to look after, for ourselves and our loved ones.

Staying “at the top of our game” matters—and we can’t afford to let it go especially when we’re feeling stuck or sluggish, or noticing age-related changes.

And by keeping our “baseline” healthy, even urgent or long-term medicines can work better, and within a stronger “terrain” of our bodies, which also help us stay away from hospital!

But when we do try hard at it, algorithms and ads send us non-stop messages for biohacks, multiple supplements, AI diagnostics … and what about the extreme trends peddled by influencers ?

And when things don’t work, we try even harder or give up.

We’ve also forgotten that we already have what we need inside and in nature to keep well.

So at Paisley Living, we teach a gentle and thousands-year-old system of holistic wellness that’s becoming more mainstream across the world.

This system is “Ayurveda”; which looks at the whole person, including our phase of life, culture and how we’re built - because we all come in different shapes and sizes.

An intuitional system of self-care and prevention, Ayurveda is one of the most structured forms of Traditional Medicine, and a “sister science” of Yoga; and each brings huge benefits to the other.

Neither “alternative” or “new age”, and importantly, not a “religious practice”, Ayurveda (which means “the science of life”) is now becoming increasingly recognised worldwide for its scientific accuracy.

In fact, Ayurveda and Yoga together seamlessly fit in with the growing practice of “personalised medicine”, combined with the growing recognition of wellness terms such as “gut health”, “functional foods” and “vagus nerve”.

Despite these amazing aspects of Ayurveda, it also says:

Staying well doesn’t have to be so difficult.

And just as Yoga has spread widely in the West over the last few decades, so is Ayurveda currently seeing a surge in respect and following.

However, Ayurveda or any holistic wellness approach does not and should never replace or oppose modern medicine, nor should it be bought in parts as hacks by influencers with advice that often lacks depth, sound science or even safety.

And rather than by trying to conform or change, we can start by being true to our own body and needs, and follow our intuition; like attention to the seasonal and lifecycle changes to our bodies and own physical setting.

This is the core of Ayurveda, that brings with it deep and long-lasting impacts, with its:

Pathways to wellness:

Yoga and structured breathwork techniques

Expertly taught, that can be practiced over minutes in a day and boosted by regular live classes with clear instruction.

Gentle, precision adjustments to lifestyle and nutrition

Recognising personal constitution, current needs and lifestyle, can make huge differences in both, personal and family’s, health and well-being.

Yoga at Paisley Living

While there are several different schools (or forms) of yoga, Hatha Yoga is the traditional practice from which many others emanate, and that offers numerous benefits that extend well beyond the yoga mat. This includes improved flexibility and mobility through deeper engagement with each pose and breath, rather than rapid flow, excess heat or or high levels of exertion.

A slower pace and emphasis on the integration of body, breath and mind, together provide enhanced physical and mental well-being.
