Ayurveda and the circadian rhythm
Circadian rhythm: by now, everyone out there knows about it and that it has to do with our “inner clock”.
In fact, that’s just a start, and has been central to Ayurveda since the very beginning.
In Ayurveda, an idea similar to circadian rhythm is considered to be the natural internal process that regulates not only the sleep-wake cycle, but all other physical and mental functions over a roughly 24-hour period, and influenced primarily by light and darkness, the season, and our personal makeup (and this is all where the Ayurveda “doshas” fits in).
And it’s actually simple.. this connection of the clock, seasons, and our own doshas regulates all the important biological processes, such as hormone release, digestion, and body temperature.
By better understanding this connection of nature and ourselves, we can better understand our needs and live our best lives.
